Quick Apply Part-time 3 hours ago Full Job Description DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES - The Assistant Chef reports to the Food Service Director, and is responsible to supporting the FS Director in all aspects of the Food Service Program, including providing meals according to the menu and the food service guidelines.
- Administration - Assist in other areas of camp operation as appropriate (i.
e.
, dishwashing, housekeeping, minor maintenance).
We are a small organization and there is a chance that you will be asked to assist with things outside the kitchen.
This is the exception not the rule.
- Food Service - Assist in the food service program.
Maintenance and repair of the kitchen and dining hall and the surrounding areas.
Prepare meals according to the menu and the food service guidelines.
Utilize leftovers when possible.
Assist in pantry, refrigerated areas, and storeroom.
Assist with food supply inventory.
Work to help make the kitchen as environmentally friendly as possible, reducing waste, using reusable resources when possible, and helping to recycle when needed.
- Program - Program assistance for groups upon request.
Facilities and Maintenance Assist in preparation for the ACA Standards visit as related to the Food Service operation.
Others Fill in for or assist other employees as necessary - Essential Functions - Must be physically fit and able to carry up to 50 lbs.
Must be able to walk around the camp more than once a day.
Must be able to stand for 8 hours.
Must be able to climb stairs.
Must have at least average eyesight and hearing.
